Impression Obsession - All About the Dies - Day 1

For the next 3 days, the Impression Obsession designers will be sharing lots of ideas for using IO dies!   You can visit the I.O. Blog each day of the hop for links to the previews. Make sure to comment for a chance to WIN!

I designed a few dies for this release, so I'll share those today. My favorites are the tea and coffee sets:

Tea Set
Coffee Set
Here's a card made with the coffee dies... I cut into the base with a section of the new Rectangle Nesting Frame die and removed a few of the layers so I could tuck in a warm marbled background (stamped with CAC Fishscales). The dies were cut from watercolor paper and painted with Peerless watercolors.

By the way, the lid from the tea set fits the coffee pot too!

I stamped Dainty Rose 1 onto the cup and pot and colored them with Distress Markers. The sentiment is stamped onto a Mini Rectangle Tag die. I used the saucer from the tea set as a little cookie plate, with the coffee beans as cookies.

I have a stack of backgrounds that I've been making with my Gelli Plate - this one made me think of green tea so I went with it next. The tea dies were cut from watercolor paper and painted with Peerless watercolors.

The sentiment can be found HERE. The frame die can be found HERE.

  96. Aww...Dina, I'm totally smitten with the way you create! I love your artistic touches. The first card reminds me of the little ceramic tea sets. I have a favorite one that my mom bought me as an older child. I broke the handle of the teap pot when I had carpal tunnel and was so frusted by that. She laughed at me and said it was a cheap tea set. But I adore it, it's tall and dainty. I also love how you took the die cuts for the second card and just added color to them. Your sense of darks and high lights intriques and I marvel over their placement.
