Mix-Ability - Bold Love

Jeanne's challenge to us this week is to create a love-themed card in bright colors. This is one of my CHA projects that happened to fit the bill... I am normally not a 'neon' person but I like my board samples to be eye-catching and trendy so I bent for this card and pulled out the fluorescent Touch Twin Markers. I colored in the full background and then lightly brayered white acrylic paint over the panel to soften it just a little.

The flower is one single image, but I cut it out and layered up the leaves on foam tape to give some more dimension to the piece (they're tucked in behind the flower just slightly). The sentiment is on a die cut square layered on a 3" Art Square from Inchie Arts for even more lift.

Stamps I used: Love You Always, Heart Grid, Camellia 1

  4. I don't do neon either, but it does have its purpose and I like the way you've 'knocked it back' with the white. Beautifully coloured and lovely to look at.

  5. I often dry brush gesso over paper or backgrounds that seem too bright. I love that technique. TFS!
