Blog Hop - Inchie Arts/ CardMaker Magazine
The Inchie Arts designers and CardMaker Magazine blog team are joining together for a blog hop today, featuring Art Squares on our fall-themed cards!
If you're already hopping and you've just come from Noelle McAdams' blog, you're in the right place. If you just happened on the blog hop because you're a regular reader of my blog and you'd like to see the other entries and maybe win a prize (!!) - click over to the CardMaker blog for all the details and the full hop list.
Here's my card:
I tried something a little different with my Art Squares today - gel printing! Using acrylic paint on my Gelli Plate, I printed several layers on Dark Cream Art Squares (four 1.5" squares and one 3" square), and then stamped and painted leaves over the prints with the same paints.
The Art Squares turned out to be a great surface for the gel prints, with clean lines from the stencils, and quick dry time. I've only done gel printing on glossy papers, so I was really pleased to know that these matte finish matboard squares will work as well.
Here's the card at an angle so you can see the shine of the gold Lumiere paint. Love that stuff! For the veined pattern, I used my favorite texture plates for gel printing - they're Animal Skins Rubbing Plates (I think that one is the elephant, but it's got some great patterns in it, and you can use either side of the plate for different effects.
Stamps I used: Oak Leaf 1, Oak Leaf 2, Blessed (all from Impression Obsession)

Dina, this card took me to a place I have never been before. It was almost a spiritual experience. And the smallness of it took my breath away. (And I know small; I have been a Miniaturist , working in 1:24 scale, for 44 years.) Thanks for showing us real beauty.
