Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Out of the Box
The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project that is 'out of the box'.
I found these wood pieces on etsy and thought they'd make a fun 'something'...
Fun shape for earrings, right? I started by stamping one of the images from the Round Ornaments 2 clear set on the wood pieces using Versamark ink, then embossing with clear powder.
I rubbed acrylic paint onto the wood pieces with my finger, then spritzed with water and wiped with a soft cloth - the embossing powder resisted the paint, and let the pattern and the wood show through. When the paint was dry, I added some sponged Fluid Chalk ink, and then highlighted the raised areas with copper Inka Gold. The whole piece is finished with a coat of Crystal Lacquer.
I love how these turned out, and I'll be making more to sell once we get settled! I think it's time to open the Etsy store again...
