I wanted to let the hydrangea image shine in a broad but simple mixed-media background panel, so I kept my card layout super clean. I stamped the Hydrangea image multiple times on Neenah cardstock, then brayered over the panel with acrylic paint.

I added a little subtle stamping to the panel with the Antique Lace background stamp - it doesn't show well in the photo, but the pearlescent ink (Brilliance Pearlescent Ice Blue) gives a nice shimmer.

When the paint was dry, I added highlights, color, and shading with colored pencils (Prismacolor and Derwent Coloursoft), and colored the edges white.
