SNSS new release - Precious Poppies

I couldn't pass up Korin's Precious Poppy set - I love the sizes of the images and it's really a beautiful addition to my poppy collection.  Here's the set - it is actually a huge double set - 8"x6"!

I was in mixed media mode when I got these, so I created a quick background with acrylic paints and dkdesigns stamps, then stamped the larger poppies with Versafine ink and used the outines as a guide for more acrylic painting.

I used a one-stroke technique where you load 2 colors of paint on the brush at one time. When my painting was done, I splattered the same colors of paint over the flowers with a long liner brush.

For my second card, I started off in the same way - acrylic paints on my background, and dkdesigns stamps inked over the top. On this piece I stamped the chevron border from the Grunge Borders set in chalk ink. I spray painted white through a stencil in the corners, but it doesn't show up well - note to self......... don't buy the cheap spray paint again!

When my background was dry, I stamped the poppies in black, then stamped them again on white cardstock, cut out the flowers, and layered those onto the painted panel.

I used a die cut as a stencil with white acrylic paint (small squares) - I put the paint right onto my finger, and rubbed it into the openings.
