Chevrons

Here's a card I made for Julie's Dare to Get Dirty Challenge earlier this month... all stamps are from Impression Obsession, and the focal image (Cage Collage) and quote (Soul Cage) are from my latest dkdesigns release.

I stamped the Thick Chevron Cover-a-Card in Memento Pear Tart ink. One hint on the Chevron background - I cut the impartial row off the top of the stamp so that I could use the stamp lower down on my card. You could even cut off a row for a single chevron border, if you're that brave!

I added some color and shading using Touch Twin markers - the colors I used are shown below. Want to know another secret? I didn't have any black cardstock, so I used navy cardstock and just colored the edges with a black marker before layering.

Also, I'm excited to announce that starting Friday, I'll be doing some joint posts with Jill Foster over at Inspired By... Jill is a fellow designer and blogger, sweet friend, and lover of color, and we have been planning for months to hang out together and see where our creativity takes us as we work with the same 6 Penny Black sets!  We have 6 posts to share with you, spread throughout the month of August. So excited to get started!!
