Tea Party!
Sorry for the later post (it's actually Thursday here....)...I wanted to post last night but our internet was out and I was soooooooo sleepy after our soccer game! Last year I always played in the back, but they've moved me up to the middle, where I'm running all the time - wow, it wears me out. You have to understand that I have been anti-sports my whole life, but here at the campus it's part of the course for the purpose of teamwork and fellowship, so I'm required to join. Quite a stretch for me, in many ways.
ANYWAY! Welcome to the smARTworks Design Team Tea Party! I'll be your hostess this evening. :) Last week I presented a sketch for you to play with, which could be turned any way you wished..the important thing was to have image and text in the large panel, and 3 similar somethings opposite - inchies, embellies, etc.
So here's my card...I'm trying to use up blue scraps this week! Two smARTworks sets were used: Hummer (sentiment) and Purpose.
I stamped the silhouette image in Memories Wheat (I think...), then the saying over top with chalk ink (can't remember if it was Fluid Chalk Dark Brown or Versamagic Jumbo Java). The inchies are from the same paper as the patterned layer, which I'm pretty sure I picked up at the Dollar Tree. Buttons are sewed on. I used my Scor-Pal to create a grid pattern on the patterned paper, and all my edges are scored as well. I almost can't make a card without doing that now...love love love my Scor-Pal! Anyone else have one?
Be sure to check out what the rest of the team came up with:Trish

oh gorgeous =)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Dina! I LOVE how you scored the edges!! I really must invest in a Scor-Pal!!
ReplyDeleteSmiles, Jami
Love those colors, and I like that you actually stitched through the buttons (hey, it's the little things :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! So soft and elegant! We were on the same wavelength with the colors :) I ADORE yours!!
ReplyDeleteWell I don't have a score pal but I might have to get one! I love how the scoring finishes off the edges of your panels! I generally like to draw borders or sponge around my edges but this scoring makes a nice, soft, clean edge. Your color choice and image/sentiment are so soft and beautiful!! Very nice :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so very pretty! I love the sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work.
This is stunning with the colors and the design. Its beautiful and who would have guessed those buttons could be so elegant. Ha!
