New dkdesigns Release!

Just wanted to share a new set that will be released soon from Firecracker Designs by Pamela! I felt impressed to make a military stamp set (the main soldier image and the Bible verses) and presented it to Pamela as an idea for a new release, and she loved it. She added a few more sayings to fill out the set, and it's available now, along with some other gorgeous sets! The set is called "So Far Away". (Clicking on the picture will take you to the set on the FDP site.)

The story behind the main image, which I found at http://www.morguefile.com/, comes from Rachel Montiel:

I had just gotten married. My husband is in the Navy, and 2 months after we got married he left for a 6 month deployment to Kuwait. This picture was of him leaving. It is my favorite picture from that day. Although it did make me cry, I knew he would come back to me...Safe and sound.

(**ETA** - the main image of this set is taken from Rachel's photo, which I altered digitally.)

For those who have loved ones in the military, or those who feel burdened to send cards to our servicemen and women, or their families, this set is dedicated to you, and I hope it will be a blessing to many.

  4. Congratulations on another piece of your beautiful art/your idea being "rubberized! (I can't actually tell from your note whether you just drew inspiration from a photo on the website you listed or if drew this yourself.)

Dina, thanks for sharing the story of this set. As soon as I saw it tears came to my eyes. I was just at a women's retreat for our church and something that was prayed over me was "You are not forgotten". Just another great reminder. Thanks!
