Bountiful paper tole
I mentioned paper tole on a previous card...that some projects are easy to do and some not so easy...this was one of those images that became a bit of a pain to do...but I endured to the end and have this card to show for it - enjoy it, because I'm never tole-ing this one again. ;) Whoa. At it's 'thickest' spot this one has 4 layers - that would be the apple and the jars in front - and I could have gone one more with the jar that looks to be in front of the other one, but...I didn't. If you've never tried paper tole, though, pick a simpler image and give it a try. It really is a good way to get yourself thinking dimensionally, and that can be a good stretching experience. :)
I started with 4 stamped and colored images (Prismacolors and OMS) then began trimming and layering. On each layer for each element, some portions are removed, so that what would appear "closer" in the scene is raised slightly more. There is thin double-sticky foam between each layer. Hopefully in the detail shot you can see some of the dimension that's created by layering certain elements of the image.
Well, it's 9:30 PM here, Sunday night - there's a wedding or something down the street and the band has just now started playing. Joy. Better get off the computer and try to get some sleep - Monday is going to be a long and emotional day...one of our closest friends is going back to his village for a year, and he's coming over for dinner...I'll also have a new house helper start training in tomorrow - my other girl is going back to school - she's still going to live with us, but will only be able to work weekends, so she's bringing back a friend with her from home who will be staying with us and working for us during the week. All in all...I'm going to be a mess by the end of the day, guaranteed!
WOW! That is beautiful and looks like ALOT of work. I don't think I could send that one!
