Come on, citizens................

The entries are posted for the Art Impressions contest - it's time to vote! Go!

This is my blog, so I'm allowed to whine a little, right? Can you leave a comment and let me know if I'm way off or what? When it comes to contests like this - it seems like often it is a popularity contest (someone saying "please vote for me!") rather than people voting on the card they truly think is best as regards artistic quality, layout, use of stamps, etc. I usually ask a lot of people to vote, but I usually don't beg for votes for me or let them know which card is mine...if people happen to think my card is best and vote for it, then great. Otherwise what's the sense of the contest? I don't know, it doesn't seem ethical to me. What do you think?

  1. One, no, you're not off base - I totally agree. Sometimes it's a popularity contest. Such is life.
And, two,...so yer not gonna tell us which one is yours?? :) Well, I placed my vote.

  2. I think you may have a point here. I saw on SCS where someone had posted a link to this contest asking for votes. But I truly love card art and can only vote by my heart, regardless of who pointed me to the site. A side note, I believe I may have chosen your card. I think I recognized it from a prior posting of yours. ;) Adelle/mnhyrkas

  5. Take it for what it is. They give "store credit" for advertising and free samples. I remember being soooo confused and frustrated when the winning page was posted at a local scrapbook store. The "best bage" in my opinion wouldn't win. The page that belonged to the person who got the most people to stop by the store to vote was the winner. So the next time I entered the contest, I played the game and won. I will have to admit that I enjoyed spending my prize when I won.
You often win w/o announcing which card is yours so that has to mean something....

  6. Well, I happen to like your cards, and since I know which one is yours, in this contest, I have naturally, and quite willingly, voted for YOU! :-) Yours are usually of superior quality to others I've seen in these contests!!
