Peace

I watercolored this image the other day with no particular goal in mind... but it turned out that the watercolored piece fit perfectly into this week's sketch challenge over at Splitcoast (#331). The image is from Magnolia Stamps (it was part of one of their seasonal kits several years ago), and the sentiment is from Sweet n' Sassy Stamps.I love this image... I love lying in the grass and just staring up at nothing... thinking about nothing... some days my brain just needs a little down time!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Taylor's cupcake challenge

When I finally (ha?!) have my act together, I'd like to participate in at least one challenge a week...but there are so many to choose from...and not to say that I have my act together...but I had a card come together pretty quickly using things I already had on my desk for Taylor's cupcake challenge sketch. I guess I have to qualify that by saying I was inspired by Taylor's layout, because when I finished the card I realized I had switched the two main layers. But...anyway...it has squares and a cupcake on it. And it's cute, right? Forgive me Taylor? LOL

Stamp credits: Tilda - Magnolia Stamps; Cupcake - smARTworks; saying - Penny Black. Finished card size - 4-1/4" square.

Magnolia birthday sweets

Eewwwwwwww, the photo editor made those colors a little brighter than they are IRL...but isn't that little Tilda from Magnolia Stamps sweet? They are so wistful and fun to color. This card ended up with a tiny "happy birthday" stamped up the side, and sent off to Susan, one of my fellow smARTworks DT members.

Not much to report today... finding myself a little frustrated still at our internet situation, but I am being flexible, and making the most of the situation. Today that means I have my laptop sitting next to our house owner's computer, and I'm using both at once, just mine is offline, and I'm transferring files to a memory stick and then uploading to the internet from there. Sigh....so, lots of extra steps...but a necessary 'evil' if watermark and banner orders are going to be previewed and sent.

OK, my hour is up...! Off to start some pizza dough and watch a movie............

Magnolia!

Bea of Megastamper was kind enough to send me some images from Magnolia Stamps to color, all the way from Germany, while all my stamps are packed, and ........... OK, I'm in love. This is just one of the many images she sent...each one is adorable and has so much personality and sweet detail. Thank you, Bea! You are a gem!

I colored this little girl with Derwent watercolor pencils. There are some glitterly highlights on the lamp and on her little wings, just for fun...I think you can see them in the picture. Tip: with the Sakura Stardust glitter pen, blending the pen a little with water after using it directly on the paper takes away some of that silvery tinge that it normally has. For what it's worth!

Hard to believe our count is down to 3 days...! Cleaned out my pantry today, had a little debriefing time with leadership... Tomorrow friends are taking our kids for the day so we can put some finishing touches on packing...plus I have a request from one of our adopted sons to make pizza one last time...and also a couple pans of marble cream cheese brownies which they love...the campus Christmas program is in the evening (and you'll be proud of me for not signing up for anything except to loan a table cloth), and after that is a short meeting to honor us...so it will be a busy day. May be able to pop in for a couple more updates, but not stamped ones, probably. All my stuff is either stored away or waiting to be packed. Sigh... Maybe just keep my new images out for coloring. I'll check in though...for the few of you who will be checking in on me!
