Splitcoast tutorial: Embossing with Detailed Dies

This week's tutorial over on Splitcoast is called Embossing with Detailed Dies - it's a really easy technique that I've used in other tutorials, but we've never isolated it as its own technique before. If you have larger or more detailed dies, this is a fun way to stretch their use!

For some other techniques that take it a step further, try these:

I used the Funky Floral Frame die from IO for the technique - this is an outline die, so all of the embossed lines are doubled and that makes for an interesting print. My base panel is a light lavender cardstock, and I rubbed Distress Oxide ink (Antique Linen) over the embossed area, then added some pearl PanPastels.

After that I used a brown Versafine pad to lightly drag across the panel and added a little texture stamping over that.

The sentiment is from this holiday tag set - cute one for lots of different occasions!

Still recovering from my allergy day and I've been working on catalog samples for new fall and winter stamps - I'm all over the place today! I hope you're having a good week! Do you have a background die you're going to try this with?
Thanks for stopping by!

Love, love, love this look! You really made this technique (which honestly didn't interest me when I saw the tutorial) come alive with a resulting style that is terrific! Thanks for the inspiration.
