Spellbinders May Large Die Kit!
This month's Large Die club kit "Kaleidoscope Card Creator" has a lot of fun possibilities! The designers at Spellbinders have been experimenting quite a bit lately with sectioned sets that can repeat in patterns, as well as layering within each section. This month's offering for the Large Die kit creates a frame - I've used it here to make a square card, but there's also a section included that extends the sides for an A2 frame as well. Clever design!
I chose 3 cardstock colors for my layers, then cut out multiples of each - the corner piece reminded me of this corner bookmark tutorial, so I decided to make one of those as well and embellish it with an extra layered piece.
Here's a closer look at the corner piece... that sentiment is here.
You can see in the graphic of the full set that that circle connector section overlaps to hold the pieces together, and it occurred to me earlier that you could also make those overlaps at an angle to make a larger star frame with 6 or 8 pieces, or even more. You could even add in the connectors for more variations.
Wouldn't that be pretty in a framed piece? I just played with it digitally here using the graphic, but imagine all the possibilities!
You can even cut off the tabs to create a tiled design:
I cut the tabs off for my bookmark embellishment - it's pretty as is, though I would cut my base piece smaller next time. This one started as a 4" square.
I love this sentiment for now - so perfect!
Here is the full set - in the corner and accent pieces, every different color represents a different layer.

My favorite perks are the extra sales and the 10% discount on the Spellbinders site!
