I thought I'd make a quick project with the Chocolate Builder set for this week's tutorial over on Splitcoast - this is a Treat Slider, and it was so simple to make!
Stamps and dies I used today: CAC Chocolate Bar, Chocolate Builder Clear Set, Chocolate First, Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames die
I stamped my background paper and did some simple coloring with Copic markers and a white Prismacolor pencil. The stamps in the set are very easy to line up and use, and they can be interchanged any way you like.
For the background, I didn't bother with masking - I stamped the Chocolate Bar background over the entire panel, then brushed some gold PanPastel around the stamped images to create a subtle shimmer.
The slot punch I used is HERE - it's really nice for ribbon! The tag is done with a frame die, and this sentiment fits perfectly in the center piece. When you pull the bow up, the ribbon pulls out the treat inside!
Speaking of dies, in this week's SCS newsletter, someone asked about my die storage - here's what that looks like:
And these are the supplies that I use:
25 Magnetic Sheets of 8" x 10" Adhesive 20 mil Magnet |
Avery 73802 Quick Top & Side Loading Sheet Protectors |
Some larger background dies are in these hanging CD pockets:

Fun stamped and colored chocolate candy images for your slider project, Dina. TFS your file drawer of neatly organized dies too. I am not a chocolate-holic, but I can't say no to chocolate covered craisens. I also make a quick and easy chocolate fudge at Christmas. Let me know if you would like the recipe. Merry Christmas..Hugs, Nancy
ReplyDeleteI like how you used candy stamps for a candy gift. Nice idea.
ReplyDeleteReally? There are people who have just ONE favorite chocolate treat? My favorite if I must name just one is plain old milk chocolate from Hershey's or Dove. I have had really fancy chocolates...but my very favorite is simple!!! Love this release!!
ReplyDeleteYour candy holder looks GREAT, Dina! I LOVE the gold touch you added & the ribbon idea is ALSO NICE! SOMEONE will soon be eating that chocolate bar I'm SURE! LOL I also LOVE your storage for your dies! THANK YOU for showing us Dina! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love today's project and CHOCOLATE! I love mine in Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream® ice cream.
ReplyDeleteIt is: Vanilla Ice Cream with Fudge-Covered Waffle Cone Pieces & a Caramel Swirl
Founded in fudge-covered waffle cones, this caramel-swirled concoction is the only flavor that gets a s'cream of approval from The Late Show host, Stephen Colbert. What's sweeter is this flavor supports charitable causes through The Stephen Colbert AmeriCone Dream Fund.
Dina, chocolate is always in style for us chocoholics...and the background you've created with it is delicious (figuratively speaking, of course)! Thanks for sharing this project and your great way to store dies.
ReplyDeleteI love plain dark chocolate the best, but anything chocolate will do!
ReplyDeleteAwesome treat bag for the candy bar! My favorite is See's dark chocolate!
ReplyDeleteYummy! I like dark chocolate too.
ReplyDeleteoooh I love dark chocolate with nuts - sweeeeet!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done, so eye-catching. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat card! I bet the shimmer is even lovelier in person. And thanks for the peek into your die storage! Seems you can store more in a small space this way than using storage pockets. Great idea :-}
ReplyDeleteI love your card. As for chocolate, dark with caramel is my favorite.
