New Fall/Winter Stamps from IO - Day 1

The Impression Obsession team is showcasing new images that are available NOW for the Fall/Winter season! You can visit the I.O. Blog each day this week for links to the previews and ALL the challenge details. Be sure to leave a comment on our designers' posts throughout the week for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate DAILY from Impression Obsession!

I was packing up my studio while making samples for this catalog release, which was quite a challenge! This one came together quickly, with a background from my file - I often use cardstock to protect my work surface when I'm making backgrounds, so that the excess paint and ink falls onto the protective piece - those sheets make the most wonderful bases for other cards, especially these silhouette images. This particular sheet is glossy coated cardstock, and has a variety of inks and stencil prints on it. The white area at the bottom of the panel works into the scene like a patch of snow. I added a few dots of white acrylic paint with my stylus to create a snowfall, and used the snow sentiment to pull it all together.

Stamps I used: Deer Silhouette 1, Deer Silhouette 2, French Script, Winter Silhouettes clear set; Mini Square Tags die set

  4. How amazing that you created this background "not-on-purpose"!!! It's gorgeous! I love how the silhouetted deer are slightly faded....they look like they could walk right off the card! Beautiful creation.

  9. A great card, Dina. I love that you revealed how the background was created. I must remember to use cardstock or maybe even watercolor paper under my projects instead of just scrap printer paper. Can't wait to see what I can create.
