Color Panels

I'm late posting for Friday's Mix-Ability challenge - I got busy sorting and packing over the weekend instead... but while I was shuffling through things, I found a little stash of paper strips that I wasn't able to throw away at some point in the past... you know those stashes!

We were supposed to be inspired by wallpaper for the challenge, but we have dark wood paneling in our current residence, so I used that concept for this blocky paper strip background. I used a Spellbinders die to cut out the portion I needed after I adhered all these to a piece of label paper.

This card was mostly inspired by the Flap Fold Card tutorial, but when it came to finishing it, the flap was too stiff to be held by the button tab, so I just glued it to the flap instead. I really like the look of the white embossed sentiment on black, too. (The sentiment is HERE.)

I found some patterned paper that matched my color combination, and put the other colored image together with a spare strip of the color blocks. These stamped images are both new summer releases from my friend Gail Green - she has such a wide variety of images in her line at Impression Obsession, and I really liked these doodly ones! (Patterned Circle, Bird Circle)

I had fun with my pencils, too, just matching to the color blocks, and since the pencils were out, I got to thinking about my pencil course - summer's coming and I know I have some online classes I want to take! If you're looking for an online class, I would love to recommend my Pencil Basics class! There's a link in my left sidebar for more information.
Thanks for stopping by!
