Splitcoast Tutorial: Stamped Masking

Lori and I put our heads together for this week's tutorial over on Splitcoast... it's a fun and easy resist technique called Stamped Masking.

I used stamps from The Cat's Pajamas for my sample - I did a light wash with Gelatos on the panel first, then stamped the sunflower image from the new Sketchy Flowers set using masking fluid. When that was dry I did another wash with liquid Peerless watercolor and some QoR paints, then waited for the panel to dry and rubbed the masking fluid away.

The bear is watercolored with the same paints I used on the background. And I used an eyelet!

Hope you'll try this one - I have another sample I'll share tomorrow. Thanks for visiting!
Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Beautiful, Dina! All of the techniques you used here are "foreign" to me because I don't know them, but the end result is really very nice. I love the colors!

  2. I have masking fluid and have never used it. I will have to give this a try. We need more inspiration on how to use our eyelets! I'll bet everyone has tons of them in their stash just waiting for an idea or reminder to use them. Thanks for this one!

  3. What a great technique, and Lori did a great job on the tutorial. I love seeing your card and have this new Sketchy Flowers beautiful! I love how you've used the watercoloring. Sweet and vibrant card, and I just love that bear!! What curved die is that? I've been looking for something like this and saw one on Lil Inkers. Hugs, sweet friend!

  4. Beautiful card! Thanks for sharing!
