Happy Anniversary
Just a quick post today - this weekend we've been away celebrating anniversaries with my side of the family and today we're celebrating my parents' 50th anniversary with friends...
This is the card I made for them - the rose image is from I Brake for Stamps, and it's watercolored using Distress markers and a gold QoR mixative (these can be used alone or mixed with any other watercolor medium for some extra shimmer).
The sentiment I used is from Flourishes - it's actually a mix and match set. I also realized that I have a sad lack of anniversary stamps in my collection... the only 2 I could find that said Happy Anniversary were in sort of juvenile fonts. Guess I need to fix that!!
Here's a peek at how I lined up the word stamps on my MISTI using a vinyl grid... so helpful for getting things placed perfectly!
...and here's an angled photo so you can see the shine of the gold mixative!
I'll see you in a few days with a fun tutorial from Kittie Caracciolo!
Beautiful card for a Great Event!

ReplyDeletethey had a lovely day and to many more!
I doubt I'll ever be able to afford a MISTI, but I thought it came with a grid to line things up. Just curious why you needed the quilting grid you used. The MISTI it still on my wish list so I'm really curious about this. I have not even looked at the MISTI in quite a while so maybe it has changed.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, as always.
