Splitcoast Tutorial: Chalkboard Marker Magic

Today's tutorial over on Splitcoast is called Chalkboard Marker Magic - it's a fun way to use your alcohol based markers on black cardstock!

I used a 3" Art Square from Inchie Arts for my black panel - love the smooth surface for this technique. I stamped my Peacock Single stamp with Versamark ink and embossed with white detail powder.

The coloring was done using Touch Twin Markers - the embossing powder gives a smooth surface to color on, and the markers blend so easily...the black surface gives you lots of room for error with the markers, too. This was really fun to color and layer.

The base of my card was one of my demo sheets from the Color Burst class I taught a few weeks ago (seems like months ago now!). I die cut the stencil alphabet letters using the Post-It technique I shared HERE, and this was my first attempt...HA! thankfully I still had room to do it correctly underneath, and tuck the mistake underneath my focal panel. You'd never have known if I hadn't showed you... but be encouraged if you think I don't have 'those moments' too!

 Enjoy today! xo
