Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Colors of summer
The Impression Obsession team's challenge today is to create a project using the colors of summer.
I love this cool pool/ocean aqua with the warm orange-red... I actually made this card for a challenge last month on +Splitcoaststampers, and saved it to share today. The challenge was to be inspired by a book - either the content or the cover. I had just purchased this little book at Barnes and Noble, and was fascinated with the cover art. Here's my take:
My card base is a sheet of designer cardstock from K & Co - I layered it with a thin coat of acrylic paint, then stamped some images over the paint when it was dry. The hydrangea blossom was cut from the same cardstock. I inlaid those die cuts into my painted panel (tutorial coming soon!). The butterflies are cut from inked watercolor paper (it was a background piece that didn't work out for what I was trying to do, so it got tucked away for another day).
Stamps and dies I used:
Impulse, Thread Spool, Butterflies die set, Hydrangea die set
