Sunny Sunflower ATC

Just wanted to share one of the card samples I made last week while reviewing the new Spectrum Noir pencils - I wanted to see how the pencils performed on a darker base, so I pulled out a dark grey ATC from Inchie Arts - I love coloring on matboard, and the surface has just enough tooth to show off pencils brilliantly. Here's my mess in progress... ;)

Here's the finished piece on a card front - I added some highlights with a Souffle pen (I colored then scraped away some of the dried ink with the tip of my craft knife).

Here are a couple of close views... I'll put together a comparison of 4 different brands of oil pencils once I get the ones I have on order from Japan. :) I know several of you are looking to see how other pencils compare side-by-side.

This stamp is from Impression Obsession, by the way - it's called Sunny Sunflower.

Enjoy your week!

  3. Love seeing your work! I enjoy using colored pencils and have found that I have less problems with the points breaking off when I use an exacto knife to trim them versus a pencil sharpener. The lead is so soft that the blade leaves less waste in the long run... and you can get a really nice point!
