My tiny, sappy canvas

This was my project for last week's Mix-Ability challege, to drip paint on our projects... I used stamps from my line at Impression Obsession, acrylic paints, household caulking, spray paints, Faber-Castell markers, and Colorbox Fluid Chalk inks to complete it.

My husband was away for 2 weeks on a surprise visit to the States - he's back now, but I missed him, and got a little sentimental when I made this little canvas. This is a 4" square - such a fun and cute size to work with.

If you watched my video on stenciling techniques, you saw how I created the raised area for the brick texture. The brick stencil I used is from Want2Scrap - their stencils are smaller and a little thicker than some of the others on the market, which makes them great for raised texture like this. REALLY nice price too - just $1.99 for the smaller size - and I was very happy with their overseas shipping.

Stamps I used: Couple Large, Passport Collage, French Ledger. The words were cut from a partially eaten book that I saved for crafting.

Here's a link to the canvas that I used - I am surprised and so pleased at how CHEAP these are!

  1. Wow! I love what you did with this. I don't think it is "sappy" but very moving. Love the texture with the bricks and the color tones for the people. Would love to make/have this for myself.
