Mixed Media Stamping - Pencil Resist

In my mixed media playing, I stumbled upon a fun resist technique, mixing oil- or wax-based pencils with water-based mediums. It's not as bright a contrast as you might get with an emboss-resist technique, but it has some really fun applications for backgrounds, using stencils, rubbings, and doodles. I hope you'll come over and check it out! Here is the accompanying video, with several variations on the technique to get you started.

This is the card I made using the first stenciled sample from the video - the stamps are my designs available through Impression Obsession (Daisy Dress Form, Beautiful You).

This sample was also made in a video segment, showing how the pencil can be used to create highlights in certain areas before adding color with inks or paints.  Stamps used: Dogwood Dress Form, Perfect Fit

Hope you'll check out the tutorial, then play along!

Thanks for stopping by!
