Beautiful World - Remembrance

Welcome to the September Beautiful World Tour, brought to you by Flourishes! Each month our team presents a themed blog hop, hosted by our group of international designers... we are literally spread out all over the globe!  At the heart of our projects is the idea of truly showcasing beauty in card making – whether in a beautifully colored image, a fabulous way to incorporate an embellishment, or a new twist on a card layout.

This month our theme is the Beauty of Remembrance! Missing You, Sympathy, even Thank You -- these are all reasons to send a card to let a friend know that you're thinking about them.

I love this sentiment - I think it fits the 'thinking' idea very well, especially being so far away from family and friends. I watercolored the orchid image and added a few cuts with a craft knife for dimension.

I am always keenly aware of (and often distracted by) color wherever I am... a lot of my color palettes are combos I see in my laundry pile! This color combination was inspired by an outfit one of our staff ladies wore a few weeks ago that I couldn't get out of my head. I actually have a board on Pinterest of flowers in this color combination.

 I have 3 orchid plants just off our front porch - they are all in different stages of blooming right now, which is exciting. Here's the one I'm told is 'rare'. I'm not sure what kind it is.
