Impression Obsession DT Challenge: Valentines/Love

The Impression Obsession team's challenge this week is to bring you some ideas for Valentine cards! We hope you'll find lots of inspiration for your own projects. If you look around you may see some sneak peeks of stamps to be released at CHA! Not here though...! I initially pulled out this set: ...then remembered that I used the bicycle last Valentines Day. The hearts though, as it turns out, made great Valentine leaves for the Solid Tree (stamped in chalk ink and blended with a waterbrush first). I used watercolor and Inktense pencils to fill in the red and pink hearts, and acrylic paint for the white ones.
For the background, I used a modified "smackin' acetate" technique (modified, because I used a cut-open page protector instead of acetate sheets) - I swiped red chalk ink on my page protector and misted it generously with water, then laid my cardstock down and pressed it in the plastic. I stamped Cover-a-Card Swirls over the card when it was dry. The sentiment comes from another clear set called Heartlines.
Be sure to check out these other designers' blogs for inspiration, and peeks at some new stamps for Valentines Day!

  3. Ok... when I first saw the tree (in the DT gallery)-- I never imagined you used the hearts from the Riding Pretty set -- I thought it was a stamp I missed somewhere along the way. Creative... as usual Miss Dina - this is just too cute and colorful!
