Pansies

This is another beautiful floral stamp from Auntie Amy - Pansies - it's a big one and so fun to watercolor. I didn't even notice when I purchased it that there was a ladybug on the leaf there! I used Derwent watercolor pencils on this piece, and couldn't go with traditional purple - had to try red pansies just for something different. Next time I'll have to do some paper tole with this image... love it.

I felt that any color or pattern on the card base would tend to distract from the watercolor work... so I filled the background with textures instead, using my Scor-Pal to create a diamond grid pattern. The sentiment is from the Flourishes Strawberries set. This card is on its way to a dear friend on the other side of the pond!

Strange week - one of those weeks where days 'feel' like different days... then we had a holiday Thursday which threw me off even more. I'm having to write every little thing down so I don't forget... there are way too many things going on right now, and way too many people have said, "Hey can you..."

Several culture jolts this week too... though we've been here 5 years, there are still things that shock us, and the longer we are here the deeper those things hit. Part of life, I guess!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
