Day 5: Get Inspired!

Our Daily Bread designs is our sponsor for today’s prize package. ODBD’s design team gallery is full of beautiful sample cards and ideas. Browse the ODBD design team gallery and find a card to inspire your card creation today (CASE is such a strong word...). Be sure to also share a link and credit the designer/card!

Come back to this post and leave a link to your card creation in the comment section below. Your card and link must be posted by January 12th at midnight EST.

Prize: Our favorite entry will receive the brand new set "Lift up our Hands", which is one of my latest designs!

Bonus prize: Head over to Our Daily Bread designs...look around and find your favorite verse stamp - come back to this post and tell us what it is, and which set it's found in. You will be entered in a drawing to win the set "the Cross of Christ"!

I chose Laurie Schmidlin's Cross of Christ card for inspiration - I have the hardest time sometimes stamping with my own designs...so it was fun to use her ideas on this card. I changed the colors so I could use this gorgeous pearlescent pink cardstock that I found at a bookstore in town (they had other colors - gonna have to go back!!).

  1. Love your card! My favorite verse is "O sing to the Lord a new song; for He has done marvelous things! - Psalm 98:1" and it is found in the set Sing to the Lord. (Why do I not have this set?!!!) Blessings on your day, Dina!

  3. I'm still not able to stamp, so I can't play in the challenge. :( But, I did find my favorite verse (they have SO MANY I love!). It is in the set "Lift Up Our Hands" and it is the Hebrews 4:16 verse. Love it! Thanks for the chance, Dina!

  4. I love the simplicity of this card... I tend to like simple things. :-)
Well, I love the whole Light of the World Set, and my favorite verse is Psalm 27:1 "The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; Whom shall I fear?" It was a toss up between that one and Psalm 91:11 from the Angels set... "He will command his Angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
I love their stamp sets! :-D

  8. My favorite verse is 'He is not here, He is risen' Luke 24:6 in the He is Risen set.

I also created a card for this challenge. Angie Z's card here was my inspiration: http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=508

  11. Another beautiful card, Dina!
The card I "cased" is one of your own. It is from the set "On Eagles' Wings". http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=28
I used a different color, designed it horizontally and added an embossed border.
Link to my card after yours: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1186357?cat=500&ppuser=157092
The verse I chose just jumped out at me when I first saw the set. It is from the set "Cross of Christ", and is from the hymn Beneath the Cross of Jesus and begins, "I take, O Cross, Thy shadow for my abiding place". It ends, "My sinful self, my only shame. My glory all the Cross."

  12. Here is the link to my card. http://myotherblog2.blogspot.com/ There are a lot of fancy cards on there but I managed to find one that I felt I could handle. lol It's called Fish Basket 2, made by you!

The saying that spoke to me was that quote by John Newton in the Cross of Christ set. Funny, I didn't realize it was one of the sets to be given away until after.
I am not what I ought to be.
I am not what I wish to be.
I am not even what I hope to be.
But by the cross of Christ,
I am not what I was.

    Amen!

  13. Hurrah! I managed all five days! I chose this card, http://www.ourdailybreaddesigns.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=125, to case. Simple, but after a month of all the kids home and lots of company, the house is calling to me...

    Here is my card: http://encouragingimpressions.blogspot.com/2009/01/dinis-birthday-challenge-5.html

I absolutely love the scripture at ODB from Hebrews 4:16. God made this one very real to me this fall.
