Monday update

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away, He holdeth me up and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day.

Tears again as I looked at the other verses of the song the Lord sent me through the ER doctor early Sunday morning. What a good good God we have.

I spent the day with Russ yesterday – he is in very good spirits and seems to have better and better muscle control in his legs. Still, just a little bit of activity makes him dizzy but surely that’s to be expected. He was taken to an outside lab for a CT scan yesterday, so we should hear the results of that this morning when the doctor comes. He was able to get up in the front seat of the ambulance with only a little steadying (he said the ride in the back was too rough – the driver was a maniac and the stretcher didn’t lock…) I’ll go back today to be with him. Our co-workers have been taking care of a rotating schedule for people to go and sit with Russ…really, we’re so thankful for the immediate support system we have here, in addition to the literally thousands of people that are praying for us around the world. I just copied 8 pages of emails to take for Russ to read, and that wasn’t near all of them.

Not surprisingly, really, the blood and urine tests I had done yesterday turned up nothing at all…so…as it has before, the stress of the situation is manifesting itself in other physical ways for me. Just a matter of realizing it and managing it, experiencing the physical symptoms without panicking about them…until this passes. I’m going to get a few more labs run today, since the doctor offered. :) Last night I fell asleep listening to my ipod, a mixture of calming music (worship music and Il Divo)…and was able to sleep very well through the night (I’ll admit…I also borrowed Elliot’s teddy bear…LOL!)

Thanks again for your love and support – we will continue to keep you updated!

  1. So, SO glad you & Russ are doing better - we just need to leave everything in God's hands & stop stressing about it - after all, He's in control isn't He? (Gee, that's sure easy to say, isn't it?) Keep on trusting! Hugs!!!
