update on me......

I talked to Russ last night and he seemed to be encouraged and feeling some improvement. Hopefully he was able to rest through the night. I think the plan is for me to go be with him today…I’m thankful for co-workers who are able to help schedule shifts and help me make decisions...we have such a wonderful team and support system here! The doctor had planned for Russ to be taken for a CT scan today – that will mean an ambulance ride to a lab in another part of town.

My fever and back pain seem to have mostly subsided, thanks to the 2 gallons of water I drank yesterday afternoon…! Probably will still try get to the lab in case there’s something going on with my kidneys. But I have the tendency to wear stress physically, and last night my blood pressure started to creep up. I had forgotten to take my medication in the morning (obviously)…I don’t normally have high blood pressure but I take a beta-blocker to give me a lower baseline, so that my blood pressure doesn’t get too elevated when I have feelings of anxiety/panic. So stress causes my blood pressure to rise…then I stress about my blood pressure rising, and it continues to rise…I also yesterday had some nerve pain in my hands, and I read that when blood pressure is high, sometimes our veins swell to accommodate the higher flow, and bump into nerves around them. So there’s that too.

Sooooooo many of you have expressed your love and concern for us, and told us that you’re praying – I can’t begin to tell you how much that means to us. We know that people all over the world are praying for us – not just from our support team, but from our co-workers’ support teams, churches, etc.

Thank you!

  4. Dina, I will lift you and your family up in prayer asking God for wisdom for the medical staff and the necessary medical supplies.

The song the doctor was singing was so sweet. I'm involved in a Beth Moore Bible study, "A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place". She talked about the Lord God passing in front of Moses (Ex. 33:22-23) and how he needed to hide in the cleft of the rock. Beth said "Could it be that the darkest times we ever have, it's because God has covered us there with His hand? Must it always be that we would think the darkness has overtaken us, or could it be that we are in a cleft of the rock and the reason we cannot momentarily see is because He has covered us there with His hand..."

Dina, I'll be praying that you will feel His presence and comfort during this difficult time.
