happy anniversary!

The reason for our weekend getaway was to celebrate my inlaws' 50th anniversary...! These days that is an amazing accomplishment - so - congratulations are in order. What a blessing to be a part of their lives.

This was the card I made in their honor...I didn't have any anniversary stamps, and I'm not sure this sentiment was the most appropriate, but it's what I had. :) I finally broke out Roses in Winter (SU) - I got it in a large lot of unmounted stamps on ebay and I have to say ...I love it! I used Versamagic chalk inks and lightly tapped the edges with the rusty orange ink before stamping. On the second stamp, I smeared the ink a little with my finger. I had read somewhere that the trick to using the set is rotating the stamp slightly after making the first impression, and I do like that look.

The card is a premade card I got at Craft Depot (they use Ben Franklin bags - not sure if it is a related store or what). They were in the $1 section - packs of 4, regularly $4.45! There were 3 different styles in white and kraft, so I got one of each. It's a tri-fold card, but I adhered the front in place so you couldn't see my edges underneath.

DH could not believe I made this card - he thought I bought it! So at some level, I think I have arrived. ;) LOL!

We went to SeaWorld yesterday and LOVED it. Very relaxing, and the shows were great. Kids loved the animals. I could seriously have watched the dolphin swimming (underwater observation tank) all day long...but I didn't get any pictures because I killed the camera battery taking speed photos during the dolphin theater...we're going to do DisneyWorld one more day, with the hope that it will be pretty quiet on a Monday during off-season. Hope so!

  1. I love your card - the colour you used is wonderful. I must agree with your hubby - if I didn't know otherwise, I would think you bought it. As for "arriving", I've seen many of your cards and they are all fabulous so I'd say you "arrived" a while ago.
