hoppy birthday to youuuuuuuuu....................

Hey, it's another smARTworks card...! Trying to use the new rubber that hasn't seen ink yet...I made this card this past weekend. There are 3 different sets represented here...the grasshopper comes with a realistic frog and a couple blades of grass (pg. 56 in online catalog - link to the right). Cupcake and saying are one set (pg. 26). The grass is a piece of this stamp (pg. 40).

This scene panel was take 2...I got it all done to the hoppy line and dropped my inky black stamp right above where I was going to stamp it. Hmmm.

More scalloped punch clouds, this time using the punch to mask the negative space. The grasshopper is colored with prismacolors, as is his shadow. Little faux stitching around the edge of the card to echo the dashed hoppy line. On the saying - I inked all but the 'a' of 'happy' with a dewdrop pad - they have a point on one end, and they're great for this. Such rich colors too! Love them! Maybe next time an eyelet instead of the brad.

The cupcake - the wrapper is pieced (I stamped it on a scrap, cut it out and stuck it on over the image). I pulled out my Liquid Applique for the frosting - it's a bit old and yellowed, but it seemed to work ok...applied, let set a few minutes, then heated with my heat gun until it puffed.

On another note, and in light of my previous post...I was blog-hopping the other night and ran across Shari Carroll's blog (she is a designer for Hero Arts) - turns out she has written a book on collage stamping called Layers. Think I'm gonna buy it...I like what I see of her work, and her tutorials on the HA site make sense to me. *flinch* again...stretch and grow...!
