Birthday batch!

This last week I went to visit my parents, and my mom put an order in for 4 birthday cards. To save time, I printed a Power Poppy image that fit the width of a sheet of Canva-Paper, then flipped the image to print it a second time... I wanted the cards to be similar but unique. Here's the full set...

I colored both images with Copic markers - I'll list the colors below. Since I had a lot of area to cover, it was so nice to use the Canva-Paper - easier to blend color, and less colors were needed to get good gradients and shading. I colored the full sheet at once, then split it into card sized panels.

When the coloring was done, I pulled out my craft sheet and smooshed and spritzed some Distress inks on it, then laid the panels into the ink for a distressed background...

I love that this paper is resilient enough to handle the wetness, and also that the printed ink and Copic ink were unbothered. It added such a nice vintage touch to the image that wasn't there with a plain white background.

I used my MISTI to stamp 4 birthday sentiments, then positioned them where they seemed to 'work' best.

This is a great way to mass produce cards and still come up with unique results! The image I used is HERE - another beauty from Power Poppy that works well in several different orientations, as well as this split image!

These are the Copic colors that I used:

Have a great week - I'll be over here trying to get caught up, doing some research on papers for this new printer, and working on some new things for my store!
Thanks for stopping by!

These are so beautiful. I have this digital- did you use the stamp set? If you used the digital- how did you print on the canvas paper? Isn't this a thick paper to go through a printer?

  2. BEAUTIFUL as always, Dina!!! I have admired your work for some time, and your coloring is stunning as always. I'm very new to coloring with copics, have owned some for a long time but got discouraged and stopped playing. Hoping to get back to them and to may be do a beginning class and then spend lots of time practicing... :)

I was THRILLED to find a wood-mounted stamp of yours with a quote by Elizabeth Eliot in my sort of local stamping store and grabbed and bought it. I have one of your peony sets too. But was especially thrilled to get that quote stamp, WONDERFUL find and such a treasure to use to send to my friends as an encouragement--THANK YOU for creating it!!!

Loved the vintage feel in these cards, I haven't heard of that paper you used so I need to do some research on it...thank you too for introducing it to me.

I'm so thrilled for you for your success in this field! You have such great artistry and I love how you show your faith...

    Hugs,

    Joanne

  3. Well these are fabulous. I don't have any Canva paper but if I read correctly you dipped the finished colored papers in your Distress Ink puddles! Your Copic coloring survived un-touched and you have a fabulous background. Hmmm thanks for sharing your fun project!

  5. All 4 of your cards are stunning beauties, Dina. Your mom is going to be so pleased, but will have a hard time giving them away. She may have to give herself a birthday card :-) Love how you got 4 original vintage cards out of one digi image. TFS my friend. Hugs....

  6. Dina, these are GORGEOUS! I too love how you used this single digi and made four cards...each one stunning. And I love the texture of the Canva-Paper. I definitely have to order some of that and try it. Thanks for sharing these and the colors you've used, and I really want to try to do the Distress inks for the background...love the look! Warm hugs, sweet friend! xoxo
