Impression Obsession - Halloween Hop

Howwww is it October already?! I am unprepared.

I thought this card was fun because the ghosts are made using the Primitive Snowman die - I just left off the arms and other accessories! Such a fun way to expand the use of a die set. The ghosts are brushed with a little yellow and grey ink for some spooky dimension. I used dark purple ink to stencil some clouds on purple cardstock, then splattered some white gesso for a starry sky.

Impression Obsession - Final Monthly Release Day 1

It's time for the final monthly release from Impression Obsession. Haven't seen the new products? They're all HERE - go take a peek!  (It's hard to get excited about a final release, isn't it...? It is a beautiful collection and I hope you will love it, but I didn't love typing these words. Sigh...)

This is artwork that had been released as a red rubber stamp, so enjoy it in a clear format if you missed it before! I love this set combined with the Christmas Stars stencil. I did a simple layout here, masking off the image to do a little watercolor background and stenciled stars.

Here's another quick card with the stencil and a new mix-and-match sentiment set. This monochrome look would be so easy for mass production on my favorite kraft cardstock! I brushed Versafine ink through the stencil and did a little stamping through the lower part of the stencil while it was still in place.

Heat embossing remains my poorest stamping skill... but here's a closer look at the sentiment - there are a number of words that you can fill your holiday with, and a large ampersand so you can fill it with more than one thing!

Impression Obsession - August Team Favorites

I love everything vintage, and this lantern is such a favorite - I based the die design off of one of my red rubber stamps (you can see it in this blog post). Lanterns bring guidance and hope, don't you think? I used solid cardstocks for my lantern design, adding shading with alcohol markers.

The background was created by inking a watercolor paper panel with Distress Oxide inks, misting the panel, then laying a stencil over the panel until it dried. This is one of the layers from the Layered Candy Corn set. I think that is such a cool effect! I have a tutorial for the technique HERE.

Impression Obsession DT Theme - Halloween

The Impression Obsession team has some projects to share with a Halloween theme - we'd love for you to hop along with us!  

Anna had some super cute monsters in this month's release - I'm sure you've seen them already! I layered this guy onto a stenciled panel which uses 2 layers of the Candy Corn stencil - I've had so much fun with that one! Super versatile using any combo of colors and 1, 2, or 3 of the layers. Impression Obsession - even more August products

We've got even more projects from the new release from Impression Obsession today! If you haven't seen the new release, you can find it all HERE - go check it out! 

I have more stencils than this one in this release, but I wanted to share 2 cards with the pencil stencil! On the physical stencil the points, wood, and colored areas are separated so you don't need to worry about masking off each row when you add color. Do be sure to give it a good coating of Pixie Spray or whatever you use to keep the pencil lines from shifting as you ink.

I did mask off each individual pencil as I went across. Sticky notes are my favorite tool for this - I always keep them close by!

For this card I stenciled a single pencil and cut it out for a cute back-to-school embellishment. This card is 3.5" x 5.5", a nice little off-cut piece from a 5" square card.

Impression Obsession - new products for August

It's time for a new monthly release from Impression Obsession! Haven't seen the new products? They're all HERE - go take a peek!  

I have got dies, stencils, stamps, and a paper pack in this release! I don't even know where to begin. I'll start with stamp sets today! 

This stamp set features new art, so it deserves top billing - this cute little kitten in a pumpkin comes with 3 sentiments  in a handy 4"x4" set. I watercolored the little guy - I love his sad face. 

There is sort of a peek at one of the new stencils in the background here - it wasn't my favorite result with the stencil but I did like the color!

You might recognize this sunflower artwork from my red rubber line - I loved that release that sadly didn't have too much time on the site before the individual red rubber stamps went away. Another watercolor application here, with several layers of paint to build up shading and depth. This layout is simple, but a great one for a large image.

Impression Obsession DT Theme - Summer Colors

The Impression Obsession team has some projects to share using summer colors - we'd love for you to hop along with us!  

I dug back into last year's releases to find a card for the theme, and I found this clean-and-simple ditty. The background is watercolored for a little variation in the bright yellow base, and the sun is stenciled from the center out, so the rays seem to fade. It's an easy one to mass produce, and the clear set I used is full of encouraging statements - any of them would work on this sunny card!

Impression Obsession - even more July products

We've got even more projects from the new release from Impression Obsession today! If you haven't seen the new release, you can find it all HERE - go check it out! 

I've got some stencils in this release as well, and they're great for the Watercolor Imprints technique that's mentioned in Splitcoaststampers newsletter this week! For this technique you ink up or watercolor your background (I used Distress Oxide inks here), lay the stencil over the wet panel and weigh it down with something flat (like an acrylic block), then let it dry. I love the effect so much! 

Here I used the Dots stencil, and you can see the pattern that it left. 

I used the same technique on this second card with the Fractured stencil. There's a combo of yellow and orange Oxide inks here, which really worked well with the stencil. Here I've used some of Anna's papers and dies, Lindsay's banner stamp, and one of my sentiments! Fun collab, girls!
