Impression Obsession - November Team Favorites

The IO Team is back today to share a favorite card from this month's release, so here's mine! Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for all the links so you don't miss anything. All the newest releases can be found HERE.

I have to admit I didn't really have a plan for making this card when I started. I had the elements cut out, and it really just came together as I went along. I love it when that happens! The coffee mug was cut from watercolor paper, and shaded with OLO markers - they have a continuous flow that really works nicely with this absorbent paper. I usually stack word die cuts, but I just have one layer here. I love the color and the contrast. The circle was brushed with whatever ink was left in my brown brush - I have one brown ink pad that tends toward the reddish end of the spectrum, and that worked well to pull the red die cut and brown coffee together. The plaid scrap was left out from another card, and it just worked! One red heart on the mug (such a cute detail!) to tie the reds together, and that was it. Oh, the saucer is an extra cut from the coffee layer doing double duty.
