Impression Obsession Monthly Kit - July 2022
It's time for a new monthly Red Rubber Kit from IO!! This week you'll find the Impression Obsession designers sharing projects using the kit so you'll have even more ideas for using these fun images.
As tradition would have it, this set celebrates "Christmas in July" - it's time to start thinking ahead for Christmas shows and gift ideas! Check the IO Blog for all the project links - some designers are posting today and some will be sharing tomorrow.
I made a set of tags to share today - IO has tons of great tag designs, and they make such a great base for unique watercolor tags (I think I might make a bunch for holiday shows - what do you think?). The images in this set are perfect for random or repeating patterns, so I did a bit of that on each tag. Coloring was done with Karin Markers and QoR Watercolors. I used a pen to extend the ornament hangers, coloring with markers, misting to activate the ink, and then adding a little more color into the sprayed pattern.
The pinecones were colored lightly with Copic markers, then I did the watercolor wash over the panel and added gold and brown spatters when the panel was dry.
For these little guys, my first step was to use a Sakura glaze pen on the icing so they would stay white when I added color. I used Karin markers for the base color on the cookies, a fine tip alcohol marker for the bowties, then watercolored the background and other details with QoR paints.
Here's the full set - so many possibilities! And how cute is that little snowglobe?!
We will be giving away TWO Impression Obsession Grab Bags this week so if you love what you see, be sure to leave a comment here (you can wish me a happy half-birthday!) and on my teammates' blogs - the more you comment through our blog hop the more chances you'll have to win! All comments for each of the event days will be open until Friday July 8th at 8pm CT. All winners will be announced on Saturday July 9th on the Impression Obsession Blog.

Happy half birthday! I lo e the Christmas ornaments.
ReplyDeleteLove your tags Dina! I've never thought to use the glaze pen on the white parts of gingerbread people. I've fumbled instead with a white gel pen. That glaze idea is much easier. TFS
