Impression Obsession February Team Favorites
The IO Team is back today with a little hop to share our favorite cards from this month's release, so here's mine! If you're already hopping and you came from Anna's blog you are in the correct place. If not, head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for the start of the hop so you don't miss anything!
I just had fun making this card, so I wanted to share it today! The yellow is really welcome too, after so many snow days (today we're enjoying a sunshiny day which is being pushed by another snow storm... sigh). I stamped the background first - the floral is done in a light hybrid ink that shows up more when you watercolor over it... the background stamp was inked and then misted with water before stamping a partial image, and then I tied it all together with a watercolor wash. The little sofa is part of an adorable new set by Alesa Baker. I stamped and paper pieced that imge, adding shading with Copic markers. The grass is part of that set as well.

I really like stamp sets with images that come together to make a scene and this cheerful, bright yellow card is a fresh burst of color on a cold winter day.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a stunning card. It just radiates SUNSHINE and warmth. I love this stamp set!
ReplyDeleteDarling card! I Love love paperpiecing on a card, probably my favorite technique. I've not heard of that hybrid ink and am just learning watercolors so that fascinated me very much. Hoping there is a video of that I can watch. I like sitting the couch on grass.
ReplyDeleteWould really be a cute new home card! Thanks for the inspiration!
Oooo I want a couch like that Yellow polka dots! Looks so cozy!
