Impression Obsession August Release Hop Day 2
Welcome back for another day of projects using brand new Impression Obsession stamps! All new stamps are available HERE! We are kicking off the month with a 2-day hop, showing off the new releases - today is day 2! Head over to the Impression Obsession Blog for the start of the hop so you don't miss anything!
Once in a while in the stamping groups there will be threads like, "What stamps are you missing, that just aren't out there?" and quite often there will be requests for Jewish stamps - many of the existing stamps are centered on Hanukkah, and there are other holidays that are card-worthy where stamps are lacking. Pomegranates were mentioned as a symbol for Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, so I drew these, and added some general new year sentiments that can go along with this image as well as other new year cards. If you aren't Jewish (I'm not!) and just want a pretty pomegranate stamp (I didn't have one, so maybe you don't either?) here you go - the image is about 5" wide, so it's sized for a landscape card, but I like it this way too.
I used QoR watercolors to paint the image - my faves! This technique is done with several layers, drying completely in between.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! you did an awesome job of coloring these pomegranate pieces. They are shaded just right. These remind me of some of the artwork I have seen in NYC at various Jewish museums...in the good old days...
