Impression Obsession Summer Release - Day 1

I hope you're ready for some Impression Obsession goodness today... we have new SUMMER stamps to share this week! You can find all the new summer products HERE!

If you're new to my blog, then you may not know that I'm not only on the Impression Obsession design team - I'm also one of their artists! You can find all my stamps HERE. It's always fun during these blog hops to be able to share my stamps, some thoughts behind them, and some fun ways to use them. When I sit down to create a new release, I try to think of what kind of cards I want to send, and then fill in the gaps from there.

You may know that I have 4 teenagers, and you might not know that they were all under the age of 5 during one very active phase of our lives! So in this release I have a collection of stamps devoted to young mamas. They need encouragement! I remember feeling so inadequate as a young mom, so isolated and almost ignored - so if you are there, or have been there, or know someone who's in this stage of life, these stamps are for you. I hope they will bring courage to many hearts!

B13907 One Moment

Both of these cards were very simple to make - the background is done with a Stencil Stacking technique, featuring brand new stencils from A Colorful Life Designs(The stencils I used are called Squeezed RectanglesFine Vines, and Happy Dots.) The silhouettes were stamped with Versafine Clair ink and I added a little shadowing with a colored pencil.

Be sure to check out the other designers' blogs for inspiration - you'll find a full list of their names on the I.O. Blog! You're not required to comment on every post, but the more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win - each one of us has a $25 gift certificate to give away! Winners will be drawn Monday April 13th at noon CT and will be announced on April 14th on the IO blog, so be sure to check back for your name!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Dina, your cards & images are WONDERFUL! They remind me of our children when young too. I'm with you, I stayed home to raise our kids, running them back & forth to school, & taking care of house cleaning between, & I felt the same as you---ignored! It is a lonely thing these days to be a mom that stays home with her children. Your cards are GREAT with the stenciling behind & I LOVE the rectangle shape!;)<3

  12. I think ALL moms need encouragement. In many ways it is easier to raise kids when they are young, impressionable, and greatly influenced by their parents. Moms of middle schoolers need just as much encouragement, if not more. Even parents of high schoolers have their hands full guiding their teens through the decision making process of college and careers. Having mine in college makes me long for the days when all I had to worry about was potty training and and being asked "why?" for the thousandth time that day. LOL Soapbox moment over! Beautiful dies and cards, Dina!!!
