Spellbinders - new Artomology release!

I 've always been a fan of Jane Davenport's work, so I jumped on the chance to play with some of her new Artomology designs from Spellbinders!  There are dies, foiling plates and stamps, and even new stencils and coloring media - go take a peek - I'll wait!

I used the Tousled die for these first 2 cards - for this first card I used the Debossed Die Resist technique, pressing the die into a panel of watercolor paper with my die cutting machine, and then rubbing a white crayon over the raised lines on the opposite side.

The wax crayon resists any water media that is applied over it, for a really fun effect! You can see the shine of it on the image above.

I used the new Silky Skin ColorSticks from Jane's line for some palette blending (scribbling them onto an acrylic block and then blending with water). These water-soluble gel crayons come in a lipstick tube format, and this color selection is perfect for faces.

It was fun making this little darling look a little bleary and worn out - she fit perfectly with this stamp set  from Studio L2E, which I used on all 3 cards today! That sweet little tag die is from the So Many Sentiments die set, which I shared here.

For this card I pressed the die into watercolor paper in the same way, but did my coloring on the front of the panel. I love how the debossed lines in the hair stayed white. I used the same ColorSticks, but colored directly on the paper, blending with my finger and with water for a bolder, looser look. The background here is stenciled with this new favorite from A Colorful Life Designs.

One more card - this face was printed using the Charisma Glimmer Hot Foil Plate - instead of foiling, I inked the plate with Stazon Pigment ink for a letterpress effect - those inks have been my favorite for this technique.

The face was colored in a combination of the techniques I used above, and I used my blending palette to pick up some ink on a stamp as well.

I used this favorite rose die set (still on sale!) for the top of my card - the inset pieces were colored with the ColorSticks as well.

Jane's products are so customizable, if that can be a word - I love these 3 completely different looks I got, just using them in my own way! Imagine the options with die cutting, inlay and layering with the dies, and foiling that beautiful face - so many possibilities!

One more thing - if you love Jane's Artomology line, all her previous releases are 40% off right now - be sure to check those out, as well as the other sale items!

Thanks for stopping by!
