Splitcoast Tutorial: Dappled Watercolor Background
Today's tutorial over on Splitcoast is a beautiful textured watercolor background - I have had the flu for just over a week now, and apparently my creative muse needs a tropical vacation right away - I might be able to tolerate this cough on a sunny, sandy beach...
I kept my card design simple - the pineapple die has gorgeous detail and so many uses - that is from Spellbinders HERE. They've added to their clearance section for a spring cleaning sale so check that out while you're over there too! The abrazos (hugs) die is by Sizzix and it's HERE - if you like the Spanish word dies, there are way more HERE on the designer's page - they're a lot of fun.
These are the colors I used for my background - these little pans fit into my spinner palette, and they're labeled with a company code at the top, and the name on the side... so here's Daniel Smith New Gamboge (so saturated - love!), DaVinci Yellow, and QoR Iridescent Gold and Pearl. I flicked in a little Wink of Stella too.
The word is double stacked for a little more dimension. That's all I know!
If you have a chance, hop over to the pet portrait contest on Blick and give my entry some love - I'd appreciate it! Voting is open (vote once per 24 hours) until Sunday. Thank youuu! *cough*cough*
