Teacher gifts!
This is our kids' first year in public school, which makes this our first opportunity to give teacher gifts! I shared a tutorial a few weeks back for Mason Jar Toppers - these are what I finished up this week.
The canvas I used is yardage from a fabric store that was going out of business before we moved last year - I thought custom pencil cases or some other one-of-a-kind sewing project would be fun, so I have a ton of that stuff! The tops are gessoed, stamped with IO Hybrid ink, and colored with Copic markers and Inktense Blocks. We tucked some practical office supplies inside - who doesn't love binder clips and Post-It notes?
The stamps on the 'girl teacher' jars are from this clear set I designed - it's one of my favorite sets ever, a tribute to Maya Angelou.
For the men I used a branch stamp from Crafter's Companion - it was a good fit! The MISTI was a life-saver in making so many of these jars (28 teachers and counselors between our 4 kids!). I actually did all the stamping at a local stamping store, the Craft Lab, where I was able to spread out in their amazing work area. So blessed to have a store near me to support, and one that supports me as well - they recently started stocking my stamps there!
I've been working my last few portrait orders for Christmas - you can follow my progress on Instagram if you'd like to keep up with my latest work. If you'd like to be on my queue for orders in the new year, why wait? Come check out my updated Gallery too!
I hope you've had a great week!
