New IO Dies for Halloween and Fall!
Today the Impression Obsession designers are showing off some new fall dies - hop along for a peek and a chance to win! You'll find all the details listed at the IO Blog, and a list of designers below. All of the new dies you'll be seeing on the hop are available NOW!
I did a couple of simple Halloween cards for you today - after our 9 years overseas, it's fun to experience fall again, and all the traditions that come along with it. I bought a pumpkin yesterday - just because! Thinking I'll paint it so we can enjoy the insides too.I put together a fun window scene with pieced pumpkins from the Jack-O-Lantern set - I was imagining them outside a closed window in the dark, so that's why I chose these colors.
I added some light highlights with a white colored pencil for a little added dimension. The scene is mounted on some heavy mounting foam for lots of dimension.
My second card started with a little paper piecing for the moon, then a partial die cut done with the Tree Row die so I could have them appear to be on level ground. Below you can see how I positioned the die off the edge of the plate to achieve that look... then used a ruler to make sure I got a straight cut across the cut piece.
Here's a closer look - again, I mounted the black piece on heavy foam so it would stand out well. That twine is from 2Berry Creative - love it.
The hop will start each day with a list of participants on the Impression Obsession Blog at 6am EST. The more blogs you visit each day… the better chance you will have to win a $25 Impression Obsession Gift Certificate! There will be a prize for each of the two hop days and a bonus prize on the final day from all the comments left for both days.
Be sure to check out these other designers' blogs for inspiration - I'll be back tomorrow with a pretty Christmas project!
