Splitcoast Tutorial: Double Matted Frames

For this week's tutorial over on Splitcoast I'm sharing my method for creating Double Matted Frames, with some tips for using more than 2 layers.  It's a fun one for your 'basics' arsenal - I think matted frames really help accent colors in the focal image, and they're a great way to make small images look bigger on a card front.

These are the cards that I made in the tutorial video... this digital stamp image is from Power Poppy (I used the other half of the image for the red card below).

On the video, I show how to do a triple (or more) mat - this one is done with Lifestyle dies, and an image from Embossing Arts... the line is carried by I Brake For Stamps now, but when the company went out of business I had to have this cube stamp of sweet beach images. Not sure if IBFS has added it to the store yet.

The sentiment on this one is from another company that's sadly gone out of business, Heart and Soul Rubber Stamp Co. Love this cute font.

One more sample - this is a double mat using dies of different shapes, just for a varation.

This is the other half of the bouquet image above - it's a digital stamp that I printed on watercolor paper. I thought I'd try spraying with a workable fixative and then watercoloring it... it could have used another coat probably - it did bleed a little, but I liked the effect, so I went with it. The sentiment is stamped on a 1" Art Square from Inchie Arts. And this twine... I love this twine. It's from 2 Berry Creative - great colors and a nice heavy weight.
