Splitcoast Tutorial: Peek-A-Boo Card
Norma has brought us another amazing card tutorial this week - I appreciate Norma so much because her mind can conceive fun folds... they are not my strength at all. Her detailed tutorial, though, enabled me to make this! It's a Peek-A-Boo Card, and a sliding panel inside the card makes the images switch when the card is open. I actually have a Norma original made with this technique - and it's amazing. When it arrived, I just stood in awe, opening, closing, opening, closing...
I made my card with my own stamp images - I'm in the process of bringing all my licensed designs under one company, but you may still be able to find this set at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. (Be sure to check their Out With The Old sale for more great deals on dkdesigns and other sets!)
I love adding shading to silhouette images - this is stamped in Memento ink and shaded with a Derwent Coloursoft pencil.
When opened, this sentiment slides into the window:
Here's the card in action! So much fun.
Hope you'll give it a try - as with any foldy project... if I can do it, you can!
Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing the video. Must check out that technique!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteA very cute card and I (as I'm sure many people) would love to see a video on how you made it. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteDarling card. So clever. Is there a tutorial on how to do the folding and recreate this idea? Love the shading on the image. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is my all-time favorite card design...I learned to make the A2 size in 2003. LOVE your wider version that accommodates larger primary and secondary stamp images.
ReplyDeleteDina, this is amazing, love this technique. I went to the Splitcoaststampers site to check this technique out and it's great, Norma's video is fantastic and she has a bunch of other videos with really fun fold cards. Thank you for sharing and for the link to see how she made this card.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card and great card design, Dina! I am excited to learn that you will be consolidating your images under one company. I hope this one will be available again, because I love the sentiments! Hugs, sweet friend! Continuing to pray for you and the family!
