Mix-Ability Challenge: Drifting Away

Today's Mix-Ability challenge is brought to us by Kyra, who's dreaming of exotic locations. The challenge is to be inspired by a dream vacation spot. I had an idea that I wanted to try - I like how it turned out but it's not much to look at in a photo! My inspiration that connected it to Kyra's challenge is the batik of Indonesia.

I had a white rayon blend t-shirt that was too big, so I had cut it straight across just under the sleeves to use as a scarf... then a conversation with an SCS member made me want to art on it and see if emboss resist could work.  It sort of worked... it would have been more striking if I'd had darker alcohol inks to work with. As it was, I diluted what I had, and the look is a bit washed out.

The resist stamping was done with Memento Luxe ink (white) and embossed with clear powder. After dyeing with alcohol inks (Shinhan reinkers and Ranger inks), more stamping was done with colored Memento Luxe. I ironed out the embossing powder and heat set the piece in the dryer.

This is a HUGE sneak peek a few days early of some of my new stamp designs... I love love love this release, and I can't wait for you to see the rest! Official peeks start on Monday!

New Year greetings from my creative space! Remember to comment on my Season's Givings post for a chance to win!

Thanks for stopping by!
