Mix-Ability: Sparkly watercolor
My card today fits the Mix-Ability challenge over at Splitcoatstampers to add a little sparkle to our watercoloring!
Quite by accident, I discovered that Tsukineko Delicata ink can be used to add sparkle to dye ink or paint. I had some extra ink on a stamp and stamped it off on my tile palette. When I went to use some watercolor ink from the palette the colored and gold inks mixed... and I ended up with sparkly paint! Very subtle, easy, and fun.
Stamps I used: Thankful, French Script, Oak Leaf, Oak Leaf 2
Yay for happy accidents!
I'm back on my feet - no more crutches, but still moving slowly. I was organizing supplies when I broke my toe, and I'm back to that this week! Fun stuff.
Have a great weekend!
Hello Dina, Your cards are just beautiful! I love today's 'Thankful' design. I'm in the UK and this is my first visit to your blog. I've just discovered your excellent YouTube tutorial on blending coloured pencils. I'd like to thank you for taking the trouble to demonstrate these techniques. May I ask what surface you worked on for this? It must be pretty tough to stand up to oil and solvent!
ReplyDeleteAutumn is just around the corner....thank you for the lovely reminder. AND, the great tip about the gold ink....would never have thought to mix the two!!!!

Dina, this card is gorgeous! I have always thought the dried leaves are so pretty, with their different shades of brown. The depth you've created, makes them look dimensional rather than just a stamped image.
ReplyDeleteVery cool Dina!! You discover the best techniques! :)
ReplyDeleteTake care and STAY POSITIVE!
OH my goodness this is stung! Your painting is beyond gorgeous! I think of heresy chocolate when I see this and that is a good thing, love this card!
ReplyDeleteOh forgot to say glad you are on the mend
