Mix-Ability - Hangups

It's my turn to host the Mix-Ability challenge over at Splitcoast this week - since the holidays are fast approaching, my challenge this week is to create a hanging or ornament. I made this ornament using layered Art Squares from Inchie Arts, sandwiched with diecut, painted chipboard.

The base squares are done with 1.5" white squares, colored with Touch Twin Markers, stamped, then embossed in a Sizzix folder, and edged with a gold watercolor pen.

The next two layers are chipboard painted gold, but the gold paint doesn't show well in the pictures - not sure what to do to about that. This Lumiere Acrylic Paint is really a bright metallic, not dull like it looks in the picture!

Here's a better angle so you can see the sandwiched layers. The ornament is the same on the front and the back.

The focal piece is a 1" white Art Square,  colored with Polychromos Pencils. Here's the full length of the ornament:

Hope this gives you some ideas for a hanging holiday gift!

  1. Very pretty!!!! Love your gorgeous flower! I will have to see if I can come up with anything. Wish I could inspire teen daughter to come and play....maybe after I treat her to some shopping!
