Burst of Flavor
When I get to stamp 'just for fun', I love pulling out my House Mouse stamps - these are the only mice that are welcome in my house, and I love their little personalities! My kids were surprised to know that the mice actually have names and certain colors they're supposed to be (here's the skinny, in case you're curious).
This is one of my cards for Hope You Can Cling To - today's challenge is to create a sunburst background using strips of cardstock or designer paper... this is really fun, and a great way to use up scraps! I can never bring myself to throw scraps away, so I had lots to choose from for this background... I like using a colored background for my pieces, and leaving a little space in between each wedge for the color to show through.
The stamp I used came from an unmounted set from Joanna Sheen. I always forget to use smaller stamps, and this layout is great for making a small image look big enough to be a focal point.
Hope you're having a great week! We're on mid-semester break this week and just got back from a weekend away (no kids!) - need that once in a while!
This is so beautifully colored, Dina! Darling card!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely! I'm a huge fan of House Mouse stamps anyway, but your starburst layout is spectacular in the way it highlights the image. Wonderful work!
