Monochromatic snow scene

I got on a little monochromatic kick a few weeks ago, and wanted to try working out a nighttime snow scene, coloring with my Blue Grey Touch Markers.  I chose the snowball fight image from the Snow Happy clear set.

I actually colored it two different ways, just for fun and to see which I liked better... on the first card I used only the BGs, and I ended up liking that cleaner look better. You can find the Snowflake dies (set of 3) at Impression Obsession too.

On the second image, I did my shading with BGs and added more shading in Putty. Instead of leaving white highlights, I colored over the entire image with BG1. I like the moonlit look, and the vintage touch with the added color.  I tucked this one into a Shake-it Shaker Pouch with some Flower Soft snow.

These are the Touch Twin markers that I used:

Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things - you never know what you'll learn!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love them both! Those blues & greys just make the perfect moonlight feeling. They also make it seem very crisp & cold! A perfect winter scene!
